<p>This position typically reports to a Registered Nurse, Registered Nurse Manager, Nurse Practitioner, Physician, or other nursing/medical administrator in the medical clinic, student health services, hospital, or other medical setting, including a mobile outreach unit. A Licensed Practical Nurse may be assigned to a general clinic or specialty clinic, such as a women's clinic that provides Gynecological services, a Neurological clinic, an urgent care unit, a mobile care unit, or other clinic. A Licensed Practical Nurse uses a variety of medical equipment, such as sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, needles/syringes, thermometers, EKG machines, AED, Hemoques, Otoscopes, IV catheters, Nebulizers, and cardiac monitors. Employees in this non-exempt position should be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. A Licensed Practical Nurse must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form, maintain and interpret records and reports, and be able to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations.</p>
