<p>Greater Cleveland Food Bank - Hunger & Health VISTA</p> <p>The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio. Our mission is to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. We do this through both food distribution and SNAP outreach efforts. The Food Bank operates a community food distribution center, providing food and other critical grocery products to nearly 1,000 local food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters, mobile pantries, programs for the elderly, and other nonprofit agencies. We also prepare nutritious meals in our Food Bank Kitchen and take hundreds of calls each day in our Help Center, where we refer low-income callers to local agencies assist with the application process for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and other assistance programs. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.</p> <p>Member Duties : As our Hunger & Health VISTA member, you will be a key member of the Community Health, Nutrition & Measurement Team, addressing food insecurity and health outcomes for vulnerable populations in Cuyahoga County. Through research and the evaluation of innovative home delivery programs, you will identify areas of growth in Food As Medicine programming and increase volunteer capacity. Connecting with both medical and non-medical pantry partners, you will provide targeted programming and increase community access to nutritious food. You will also play a critical role in strengthening a measurement-focused culture, collecting data on food security and health status from focus groups and surveys. Ultimately, your data gathering will serve to better communicate our work to external stakeholders and promote our mission. Join our team today!
