As part of this growth, the Department of Chemical Engineering seeks a dynamic tenured or tenure-track faculty member to begin in Fall 2026. Applicants at all ranks are encouraged to apply. Applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor must possess a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering or a related field by the time of appointment and demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and research; applicants for the rank of Associate Professor and Full Professor must also have years of relevant academic experience commensurate with academic policy by the time of appointment, with a strong, sustained record of excellence in teaching and research.</p> <p>We seek candidates whose expertise and approach aligns with both the core strengths of the Department, including especially the area of separations, as well as cross-cutting initiatives identified by the College. Successful candidates will be expected to develop and sustain an internationally recognized research program. The University is also a partner in the management and operation of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), with a goal of expanding collaborative research partnerships and developing the advanced workforce for SRNL; therefore, the Department is interested in applicants whose research programs will support DOE priorities in energy security, national security, and sustainability.
