In a region where economic shifts have led to job loss and uncertainty, CEDAR empowers K-12 students to reimagine their own futures, explore high-demand careers, and gain the skills needed to thrive-without having to leave their hometowns. Through hands-on learning experiences, CEDAR helps students (1) recognize emerging opportunities, (2) solve real-world challenges in their communities, and (3) unleash their creativity to build a vibrant Appalachian economy. A dedicated AmeriCorps VISTA will play a critical role in bringing CEDAR into the modern digital age. This position will help expand the organization's reach by developing engaging online content, managing social media, and enhancing digital presentations to better connect with teachers, students, community members, and potential donors. The VISTA will also develop volunteer recruitment, fundraising efforts, and the implementation of a new digital donation system to improve CEDAR's financial sustainability.
