<p>Position Title Academic Services and Tutorial Coordinator Division Athletics Department Athletics Number of hours per week 37.5 Days to be worked Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Months per year Fiscal (12 months) If modified, list months Job Type Full-Time Campus Main Campus If other location, please indicate Indeed.com; HERC Position Number 101500 Advertised Salary $43,222 - $52,521 Pay Basis Monthly Job Description</p> <p>Tennessee State University Division of Athletics invites applications for the position of Academic Services and Tutorial Coordinator.</p> <p>The Academic Services and Tutorial Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the academic</p> <p>success and retention of NCAA Division I student-athletes. This position is responsible for</p> <p>coordinating academic support services, including the tutoring program and study hall, while also</p> <p>monitoring academic progress and eligibility. The coordinator works closely with coaches, academic advisors, faculty, and other campus partners to ensure student-athletes meet both university and NCAA academic standards.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Academic Support Coordination:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate academic support services for assigned teams, including individualized academic plans and study strategies. </li><li>Monitor student-athletes' academic performance and progress toward degree completion and NCAA eligibility requirements. </li><li>Collaborate with academic advisors and student success specialists to support at-risk </li></ul> <p>student-athletes.</p> <p>Tutorial Program Management:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the recruitment, hiring. training. and evaluation of tutors and academic mentors. </li><li>Schedule tutoring sessions and ensure appropriate tutor-student-athlete pairings. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and monitor the effectiveness of the tutorial </li></ul> <p>program.</p> <p>Study Hall Oversight:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise study hall operations. including scheduling. attendance tracking. and enforcement of </li></ul> <p>academic expectations.</p> <ul> <li>Analyze student study hall performance and adjust programming as needed. </li></ul> <p>Compliance & Reporting:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate documentation of all academic support activities to ensure compliance with </li></ul> <p>NCAA, Ohio Valley Conference, and Tennessee State University regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Prepare regular reports on student-athlete academic performance for coaches and athletics </li></ul> <p>executive leadership.</p> <p>Communication & Collaboration:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a liaison between academic units, athletics staff, and student-athletes. </li><li>Participate in team meetings, staff development, and academic progress review sessions as </li></ul> <p>needed.</p> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively with coaches regarding academic concerns or updates. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate a commitment to student success. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. </li><li>Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to support student-athletes. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Office environment with some evening and weekend hours based on team travel, study hall, and </li></ul> <p>academic programming.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. </li><li>At least 1-2 years of experience working in athletic academic support or a related field in </li></ul> <p>higher education.</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations related to academic eligibility and </li></ul> <p>progress-toward-degree requirements.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in education. counseling, sport management. or a related field. </li><li>Experience working with NCAA Division I student-athletes. </li><li>Previous experience managing tutoring programs and/or academic support initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a criminal background check as mandated by Tennessee State University.</p> <p>Official transcripts for positions which require a post-secondary undergraduate degree, advanced degree and/or certification must be presented upon hire.</p> <p>An unofficial transcript may be attached in the "Transcript" section.</p> <p>You will be required to provide names and contact information for three references during your application to the posting.
