<p>Job Goal: To assist teacher with providing classroom instruction.</p> <p>Required:</p> <ol> <li>Associate's Degree or equivalent amount of college credits from an accredited post-secondary institution. </li><li>Experience working with children in an instructional setting. </li><li>Basic knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices. </li><li>Good communication skills verbally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to work with diverse learners across settings. </li><li>Flexibility and comfort with transition and varied responsibilities. </li><li>Ability to work well with others. </li></ol> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li>Assists teachers in classrooms by providing indirect instruction and support to students. </li><li>Assists with the supervision of playground, bus boarding activities, cafeteria and corridors. </li><li>Works under the direct supervision of teaching staff to implement special education and general education programs by providing both individual and small group support. </li><li>Provides behavioral, social and daily living skills support to students as assigned. </li><li>Alerts staff to any problem or special information about an individual student. </li><li>Assists with clerical work in teacher's classroom, library, office, and other appropriate workstations. </li><li>Support students in school-sponsored community activities </li><li>Accompanies a sick or injured child when appropriate. </li><li>Assists in maintaining workroom area and machines. </li><li>Assists with snack and cleanup routine. </li><li>Assists with library functions: book collection, dissemination and record keeping. </li><li>Performs clerical work related to record keeping for district and state reports. </li><li>Any other duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the Principal or Director of Student Services. </li></ol> <p>Monday - Friday 7 hours per day</p>
