Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position. This position is responsible for driving children to and from school related activities in a safe and efficient manner.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must have high school diploma or GED. </li><li>Must hold a valid Connecticut Driver's License with V endorsement. </li><li>Must have a clean driving record for a minimum of five years. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Drives assigned vehicle safely, observing Connecticut motor vehicle laws and regulations. </li><li>Requires ability to communicate with children, parents and district staff. </li><li>Must be able to establish a positive relationship with children to maintain order and handle emotional or behavioral problems. </li><li>Maintains schedules; adheres to established routes. </li><li>Maintains cleanliness and general condition of assigned vehicle. </li><li>Creates a safe, comfortable and orderly atmosphere for passengers. </li><li>Reports incidents or challenging behavior of passengers to Transportation Coordinator. </li><li>Requires accountability for decisions made regarding discipline, orderliness and road emergencies. </li><li>Work under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator. </li><li>Ability to work independently, with excellent judgment, in the best interests of the passengers and the district. </li></ul> <p>Full-time position providing transportation for students and staff to and from vocational and community sites.</p> <p>Hours: 8:15am - 2:45pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday)</p> <p>8:15am - 12:45pm (Wednesday)</p> <p>Please complete the application in full and provide a current resume and 3 written letters of recommendation dated within the last 365 days in order to be considered for this position.</p> <p>Equity and Anti-Racism Vision</p> <p>We, the members of West Hartford Public Schools, dedicate ourselves</p> <p>to the pursuit of equity.
