<p>Job Description:</p> <p>NEW FAIRFIELD BOARD OF EDUCATION</p> <p>POSITION: NURSE SUPERVISOR</p> <p>Work Year: TBD</p> <p>SCHOOL: Districtwide</p> <p>Job Summary and Functions:</p> <p>Responsible for developing, organizing, overseeing and evaluating the health services program(s) provided by the school nurses in accordance with state laws, local Board policies and administrative procedures of the district; as well as part time school nurse duties providing coverage to school buildings as needed.</p> <p>GENERAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Performs day-to-day school nurse duties, including Extended School Year (ESY). </li><li>Familiarizes all school nurses with the district's policies and procedures and monitors adherence. </li><li>Recommends health services policy updates and changes as necessary to the Superintendent or Designee. </li><li>Provides health information for parents, students and staff, and advises staff on classroom lessons of ways to promote healthy lifestyles. </li><li>Is responsible for the supervision and daily scheduling of the nurses and substitute nurses. </li><li>Participates in 504s/PPTs, as needed. </li><li>Initiates regular communication with the District Medical Advisor. </li><li>Coordinates staff development programs for school nurses and serves as an advisor to the district professional development committee on appropriate staff development for district personnel. </li><li>Reviews paperwork to assist with registrations during the summer months. </li><li>Is certified or is willing and able to become certified as a CPR and AED trainer and is willing and able to train staff. </li><li>Prepares a budget for the Health Services and requisite supplies and equipment. </li><li>Coordinates a District Health and Wellness program for staff and students. </li><li>Participates on the District Safety Committee. </li><li>Performs all other Health Services or district duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Designee. </li><li>Creates a safe, welcoming and respectful environment throughout the district and in every school that supports the continuous improvement of teaching and learning. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master's preferred. </li><li>Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Connecticut.
