<p>Summary:</p> <p>Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager for of Emergency Services Nursing Operations under general supervision from Administrative Operations Manager and according to established policies and procedures manages day to day/ week to week payroll operations for emergency services. Processes emergency department payroll utilizing computerized time and attendance system validating all worked and non-worked hours to assure accuracy. Performs a variety of complex clerical functions which requires the use of judgement and knowledge of the department?s systems and operations.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Time Card Management:</p> <p>? Collect review and verify employee timecards for accuracy and completeness</p> <p>? Ensure all time entries comply with Brown health policies labor laws and union contracts (IBT and UNAP)</p> <p>? Follow up with employees and managers to resolve missing or incorrect time entries</p> <p>? Correct and adjust timecard discrepancies prior to payroll processing deadlines</p> <p>? Monitor and maintain accurate records of PTO sick and holiday accrual and usage.</p> <p>Payroll Processing:</p> <p>? Enter and audit time data in the payroll system (Kronos Workday)</p> <p>? Maintains all clerical records required for UKG Dimensions.</p> <p>? Assist in bi-weekly or weekly payroll ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees</p> <p>? Reconcile hours worked overtime and other earnings/deductions before submission.</p> <p>Compliance & Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Ensure adherence to federal state and organizational payroll policies and procedures. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and employee information. </li><li>Generate and review payroll reports for accuracy trends and audit readiness. </li><li>Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll and timekeeping. </li></ul> <p>? Assists with cost containment by encouraging use of benefit time during periods of low census and/or low workload.</p> <p>Customer Service</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the point of contact for timekeeping and payroll inquiries from staff and supervisors. </li><li>Provide training and support to employees and managers on timecard systems and procedures. </li><li>Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related issues. </li><li>Demonstrates flexibility and innovation to facilitate the changes required to improve operations enhance revenue effectiveness productivity responsiveness and other key indicators. </li></ul> <p>Continuous Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Identify and recommend process improvements for timekeeping and payroll accuracy. </li><li>Stay current on payroll regulations and timekeeping system updates. </li></ul> <p>? Exhibits effective decision-making skills.</p> <p>? Controls timely and appropriate flow of information throughout the department and the organization; keeps stakeholders informed.</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>BASIC KNOWLEDGE:</p> <p>A level of knowledge generally obtained through completion of high school or General Equivalency Diploma.</p> <p>Ability to handle stressful situations and multiple demands in an effective manner and demonstrate organizational and problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Excellent communication and customer service skills</p> <p>Able to multi-task in order to perform a variety of complex clerical duties.</p> <p>Organizational skills to maintain departmental files records and statistical data.</p> <p>Familiarity with personal computer and mainframe-based system applications.</p> <p>Proficient typing and computer keyboard skills.</p> <p>Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a variety of hospital personnel.</p> <p>Organizational and analytical ability to arrange schedule considering multiple criteria and priorities.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>2-3 years job-related experience preferred to be familiar with most if not all departmental operations as well as the regulations associated with specialized functions.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Fast-paced office environment with urgent conditions associated with addressing nursing department staffing schedule changes.</p> <p>Must be able to perform frequent fine motor skills.</p> <p>INDEPENDENT ACTION:</p> <p>Follows established policies and procedures under general supervision.
