<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Network Engineering and IT Section Chief is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the law enforcement technology initiatives and associated processes. This position reports directly to the Director of the Bureau of Network Engineering and Data Infrastructure (BENDI) within the Division of State Patrol (DSP). The position will provide management, leadership, and coordination of the two units within the Network Engineering and IT Section, including the Production Support Unit and Network Support Unit. This position will:</p> <ul> <li>Lead efforts on the implementation and utilization of technology, law enforcement IT applications and advancements within the Division. </li><li>Collaborate on the development of applications and policies. </li><li>Serve as the point of contact for all internal and external business partners. </li></ul> <p>This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse positions throughout the Division and the agency. This position is responsible for working across the Division's different Bureaus and Regional business areas to communicate and to build consensus and support for the DSP IT strategic vision and initiatives. This position will oversee the tracking of individual IT initiatives and will also assist in organizing and leading IT implementation efforts, including Identifying and recommending DSP team members, and identifying roles and responsibilities for business area experts (BAE) assigned to projects.</p> <p>The position Is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, organization and management of complex statewide public safety communications networks for the Department of Transportation. This position is also responsible for the design and implementation of statewide public safety communications networks for the Department of Natural Resources and Department of Military Affairs.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in schedule-range (81-02) with an annual salary of $87,360-$111,093, plus excellent benefits. A 2 year career executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>This state agency does not sponsor work visas. (Formal leadership or supervisor roles include directly supervising staff.) </li><li>Experience leading and/or coordinating IT initiatives or programs.
