Scans, correlates, and clips studies accurately. Observes EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity. Explains testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate guidelines. Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources. Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians. Recognizes and takes appropriate actions to respond to evolving patient care needs. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as requested. Maintains diagnostic testing equipment and supplies. Conducts long-term monitoring in epilepsy and intensive/critical care units. Monitors patients in Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs) while adhering to protocols and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Maintains accurate archive and retrieval systems for original EEG tracings.
