<p>Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Follows appropriate safety procedures (e.g., DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.) when transporting waste materials and general freight. </li><li>Checks vehicle before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. </li><li>Maintains logs of working hours in accordance with U.S. DOT hours of service regulation </li><li>Performs vehicle inspection in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. </li><li>Communicates need for service or repair. </li><li>Establishes and maintains customer focused working relationship with all company customers (internal and external). </li><li>Obtains receipts or signatures when loads are delivered. </li><li>Checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. </li><li>Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading positions, follows signals from loading crew as needed, checks that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. </li><li>Drives trucks with capacities greater than 26,000 lbs, including dump trailers, tankers, rolloffs and vans, in order to transport and deliver residuals, waste or other materials. </li><li>Secures cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, and/or covers. </li><li>Reads shipping paperwork (i.e., work orders, bills of lading and manifests) to determine assignment details. </li><li>Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles in accordance with company policy. </li><li>Maintains truck interior and safety of equipment and personal protective equipment. </li><li>Maintains a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no at-fault accidents for the past three years and no major convictions. </li><li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Two years of current CDL experience is required. </li><li>A valid driver license with a Hazmat and Tanker, Class A CDL endorsement is required. </li><li>Must have a compliant history with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). </li><li>Must qualify for a DOT physical card. </li><li>Must be compliant with DOT substance abuse testing. </li><li>Must be able to work the number of hours required to compliantly accomplish each days task. </li><li>Must have the ability to travel overnight. </li><li>Must be able to work additional hours as required including weekends. </li></ul>
