<p>To: All Teaching and Administrative Personnel Brockton Public Schools</p> <p>From: Dr. Kathleen F. Moran, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources</p> <p>Subject: TEACHERS: RISING 9TH GRADE HUMANITIES AND STEM CAMP - SUMMER 2025- Search Extended for Math Teachers</p> <p>Contingent upon funding and adequate enrollment, the Office of Teaching and Learning will provide a Humanities and STEM Camp summer program.</p> <p>The Humanities and STEM Camp is for rising 9th grade students who have not met academic requirements and need skill support to experience success across all core content areas as they enter high school. Teachers are needed to instruct in the program, which will target students entering grades 9.</p> <p>The academic program will run Monday-Friday from June 30th - July 31st (with the exception of July 3rd and 4th) at Brockton High School. The number of teachers is dependent on student enrollment.</p> <p>There will be a required training session on a date to be determined prior to the start of the program. Ten (10) hours of compensation at the contractual hourly rate will be paid for training and lesson preparation.</p> <p>The program (student hours) will run from 8:30 am - 11:30 pm daily. Teacher hours are 4 hours per day (8:00 am-12:00 pm). Teachers will be responsible for program delivery and evaluation.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Teaching license from the MA DESE 2.Ability to infuse digital literacy development into instruction 3.Experience teaching English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, ESL, and/or Health at the middle school or high school level using the identified HQIMs for the content area. 4.Available to provide Humanities and STEM instruction/tutoring for 4 hours each day 5.Knowledge of Character Strong and ability to utilize it during the program 6.Ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and student mentors to support students and families throughout the program. 7.Prior experience teaching in a summer program is preferred 8.Must commit to work the entire program and attend training</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Lead instruction using the identified HQIMs for the content area 2.Collaboratively plan lessons 3.Provide in-class instruction and/or support, 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. 4.Participate in planning and/or supervision from 8:00 am - 8:30 am while students arrive and eat breakfast. 5.Participate in planning and/or supervision from 11:30 am - 12:00 pm while students are dismissed and eat lunch. 6.Monitor and report student progress 7.Attend up to 10 hours of training and planning before the start of the summer program. 8.Complete and submit documentation forms to the program supervisor, as needed 9.Other duties as directed by the program supervisor</p> <p>Compensation:Stipend $4,000 Funding Source: Local</p>
