<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Fundations Reading Tutor provides individualized, evidence-based reading instruction to students with reading difficulties, including those with dyslexia, using the Fundations Wilson Training, instruction is delivered in one-on-one or small group settings during the morning and/or afterschool sessions, depending on student needs and scheduling. The tutor works closely with educators, specialists, and families to support student progress in foundational literacy skills including phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, and spelling.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver structured literacy instruction using the Fundations Reading System in one-on-one or small group formats during morning and/or afterschool sessions. </li><li>Administer diagnostic assessments to determine student reading levels and identify instructional needs. </li><li>Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the Fundations Reading System scope and sequence. </li><li>Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments; maintain accurate records of student data and session notes. </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents, classroom teachers, the Coordinator, and other relevant staff regarding student progress and instructional strategies. </li><li>Participate in team meetings, professional development, and Wilson training as required. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and school/district policies. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Fundations Wilson Training required. </li><li>Experience working with students with reading disabilities, including dyslexia. </li><li>Strong understanding of multisensory, structured language instruction. </li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. </li><li>Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping struggling readers succeed. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with progress monitoring tools (e.g., DIBELS, AIMSweb). </li><li>Familiarity with IEP goals and working with students with special needs. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>This is a part-time, non-benefited position tutoring students in grades K-2. Hours per week vary depending upon the needs of the students. It could range between 1-4 hours per week from 8:00a.m.to 9:00a.m. The hourly rate is $45.00 and the anticipated start date is 10/01/2025.
