<p>2026 YouthBuild Support Service Coordinator VISTA- Cambridge</p> <p>Just-A-Start YouthBuild in Cambridge empowers local young people ages 16-24 who are not in school or working to achieve their education and career goals. Participants can earn a high school diploma or equivalency while gaining hands-on training in construction and other in-demand fields. Along with academics, the program offers leadership development, life-skills coaching, and career readiness support, helping students build confidence and create strong pathways to college, apprenticeships, and employment. By combining education, workforce preparation, and community service, Just-A-Start YouthBuild equips graduates to succeed in meaningful careers and make a lasting impact in Cambridge and beyond. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will build YouthBuild's capacity to connect students and alumni with critical community resources. Duties include researching and mapping local services, analyzing past support trends, and gathering student feedback to identify needs and barriers. The member will create a comprehensive, user-friendly resource guide or database, organize services into clear categories, and recommend sustainable systems for annual updates. They will also design and document a standardized referral process with eligibility guidelines, develop tracking tools, and train staff to ensure consistent use. By establishing reliable, accessible systems, the VISTA will help YouthBuild reduce barriers, strengthen community partnerships, and improve long-term success for opportunity youth and their families. The member will research and map local services-housing, mental health, food security, employment-and create a user-friendly resource guide or searchable database. They will collect feedback, identify service gaps, and recommend sustainable systems for updating information. The VISTA will also design a standardized referral process with clear eligibility guidelines and follow-up steps, then train staff to use these tools.
