<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position: Custodian 2nd shift (2:30pm-10:30pm)*</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Facilities</p> <p>Position Function:</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the Principal, Director of Facilities, and Business Manager, performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary.</p> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <p>Performs related duties and general maintenance work as required.</p> <p>Evaluation</p> <p>Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Education Policy</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Change bulbs, ballasts, switches, receptacles. Be familiar with breaker panels and electrical meters. </li><li>Clean, sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures. </li><li>Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers. </li><li>Assist with setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. </li><li>Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets. </li><li>Use and maintain power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, power drain snake, etc. </li><li>Use and maintain grounds equipment and hand tools; tractor, mowers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, plows, loaders, forklifts, manlift, chainsaw, etc. </li><li>Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments. </li><li>Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure buildings when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows; report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights. </li><li>Follow the instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed. </li><li>Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs using hand operated tools or power equipment. </li><li>Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools as needed. </li><li>Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. Launder cleaning rags and dust mops. </li><li>Successful completion of physical and drug screening. </li><li>Ability to follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with others and follow directions. </li><li>Ability to work in an environment containing cleaning materials, dust and noise. </li><li>Ability to lift, carry, push and pull a maximum of 75 pounds with assistance and 50 pounds independently. </li><li>Ability to bend, kneel, crouch reach/work overhead or horizontally. </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. </li><li>Maintain and clean equipment. </li><li>Perform minor plumbing repairs, light tree work. </li><li>Change plow, chains, loader and forklift on tractor. </li><li>Change belts on HVAC equipment. </li><li>Ability to complete all tasks listed in the job description and similar assignments. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Perform other job related tasks as assigned by the Director of Facilities and/or Administration </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Two years of recent full-time custodial experience preferred </li></ul> <p>FLSA Status: Non-exempt</p> <ul> <li>Summer Hours: June - August (7:00am - 3:00pm) exact dates based on first/last day of school year </li></ul>
