Rotating 40 hour work week and requirements are to work nights, weekends and holidays if scheduled. MetroCom employees are essential to the 911 communication system operation and will be subject to schedule changes and work overtime to cover operational needs. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>Internal City employees only. No external candidates or non-City employees will be considered</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Dispatch Supervisor ensures the accurate, timely, and complete information is being gathered and disseminated to first responders to include law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel in Nueces County.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Be able to perform the functions of a 911 Dispatcher I and II. </li><li>Directly supervise, mentor, coach and discipline employees. </li><li>Perform quality control by monitoring incoming calls, radio traffic, and on duty personnel. </li><li>Must be able to work 12 hour shifts that may vary from day to evening start times and be able to transition with minimal notice. </li><li>Keep abreast of ongoing incidents and effectively monitor the operation of an assigned shift. </li><li>Make quick and decisive decisions that immediately impact safety of citizens and first responders while following all policies and SOP's established by the department and the division. </li><li>Maintain all skills requested of a Metrocom 911 Dispatcher I and II as well as those of a Metrocom Dispatch Supervisor. </li><li>Maintain daily work schedules to ensure adequate staffing for a 24 hour operation. </li><li>Ability to listen to multiple areas within facility for general questions from staff, increased phone calls, indicating an emergency event, emergency traffic occurring via radio, alarms sounding in different areas of the center, and other stimuli encompassing the need for active listening. </li><li>Ability to learn new procedures, policies, equipment, software, and hardware in order to apply, troubleshoot, and to teach/guide subordinates as necessary. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires a High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Minimum of four (4) years of directly related experience </li><li>Basic Instructor required </li><li>TLETS Basic Telecommunication required </li><li>TCIC/NCIC Full Access Certification required </li><li>Basic CPR Instruction with AED and First Aid Certification required </li><li>TCOLE Telecommunicator License required </li><li>A valid driver's license is required.
