<p>THE POSITION</p> <p>Are you looking to use your technical and supervisory skills in a challenging public service career? The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill is seeking a motivated Corrections Water Treatment Plant Foreman. If you want to make a lasting difference then we encourage you to apply today!</p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK</p> <p>As a Corrections Water Treatment Plant Foreman, you support the ongoing operation of a 1.2 million gallon capacity water treatment plant using solid knowledge and communication skills while working hands-on with inmates learning the standard principles of water treatment plant maintenance. This will include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Operating, maintaining, and repairing pumps, valves, chlorinators, chemical feeders, compressors, laboratory equipment, and computer monitoring systems</p> </li><li> <p>Performing daily laboratory testing</p> </li><li> <p>Checking equipment calibration</p> </li><li> <p>Adjusting required chemical dosages and monitoring gauges, meters, and sensing devices</p> </li><li> <p>Updating tool and toxic supply inventory records</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring compliance with all Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regulations</p> </li></ul> <p>Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time employment, 40 hours per week </li><li>Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Wednesday - Sunday, with a paid lunch. </li><li>Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. </li><li>Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes). However, a higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement. </li><li>You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant. </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>You must possess a valid certificate issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Systems Operators as a water treatment plant operator that is equal to or higher than a Class C with subclasses 1, 7, 8, and 11. </li><li>You must possess a valid Class E certificate issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Systems Operators. </li><li>You must possess a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. </li><li>You must be able to perform essential job functions. </li></ul> <p>Legal Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <ul> <li>Resumes, cover letters, and similar documents will not be reviewed, and the information contained therein will not be considered for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the position.
