Employee replaces parts, makes minor adjustments to machinery, and repairs buildings, equipment, and miscellaneous articles. Employee also performs the installation, maintenance and repair of locks, doors, and hardware; opening of locks on doors and safes, changing of lock combinations, resolving immediate operational and or safety concerns, assisting other skilled trades, and ensuring that tools and materials are available at jobsite, Also perform demolition on certain projects and assist with snow removal. Research parts and materials for purchase. Helps maintain attic stock. Work is done in accordance with established procedures, and frequent and detailed instructions are given on new or complex work.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment. Make minor repairs and adjustments to plumbing, electrical wiring and equipment, furniture, shelves, doors and windows, and machines of various kinds such as lawn mowers, grounds equipment, water pumps, compressors, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Office, classroom, and event set up and tear down.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform as a team member of the Facilities Management Division.</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>$26.37 - $30.35/hour</p> <p>(DOQ - Salary Placement will be done at time of hire.)</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of general methods and practices of a variety of trade areas (e.g., mechanics, masonry, welding, electrical, plumbing and carpentry) sufficient to assist licensed trades workers and to repair machinery, tools, and facilities in a timely and safe manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to safely use hand and power hand tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to safely operate and maintain trucks, tractors, and other ground and road maintenance equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow oral and written instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide work instructions to unskilled helpers.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 100lbs, carrying and bending.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualification</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of general methods and practices of HVAC sufficient to assist licensed Plant Maintenance Engineers to repair equipment, change filters and read gauges.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to develop and maintain professional, respectful working relationships with all aspects of our diverse campus community, including with supervisors, co-workers, other staff, faculty, administration, students, and general public.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated organizational, prioritization and planning skills sufficient to manage competing priorities, to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to use software applications sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials such as emails, reports, and to maintain work records such as preventative maintenance and repair schedules.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with and of knowledge of Schlage lock sets and hardware, Von Duprin closers and panic/exit devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it relates to the job.</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of and commitment to the mission of a community college.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <p>To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.</p> <p>This position requires successful completion of employment references and a driver's license background check.</p> <p>Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)</p> <p>Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm</p> <p>(This position follows a seasonal work schedule.
