We're focused on building a team that values excellence, making a meaningful impact on our schools and community.</p> <p>POSITION DESCRIPTION</p> <ul> <li>To provide support and explicit instruction to English Language Learners through intervention, support and classroom instruction </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assess students' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans</p> </li><li> <p>Teach listening, speaking, reading and writing through core content instruction based on the Tennessee Academic Standards for Language Arts and the WIDA Standards</p> </li><li> <p>Administer required tests and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student language ability</p> </li><li> <p>Develop individual learning plans based on data and implement the action steps in that plan by working closely with core content teachers</p> </li><li> <p>Support ELL students with the core content of the grade level</p> </li><li> <p>Provide instruction on language and speaking and writing daily</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in a variety of meetings to convey and gain information to improve service to ELL students</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain positive relationships with parents and community members</p> </li><li> <p>Inform parents of progress and challenges to collaborate on best practices with each student</p> </li><li> <p>Model effective communication with students</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, prepare, implement, and assess instructional lessons based on the grade-level standards and the individual learning plan for each student</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Appropriate Tennessee Teaching License with applicable endorsement</p> </li><li> <p>Fluency in instruction in the following areas of the English language: listening, speaking, reading and writing</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelors' Degree or higher in related field</p> </li></ul> <p>Demonstrate Knowledge and Abilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of Second Language Acquisition theories</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and appreciates of cultural differences and impact on student learning</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Apply online</p> <p>Franklin Special School District Pay Scale</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer Statement</p> <p>Franklin Special District (FSD) is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
