<p>Title: Women's Rowing Head Coach - 999826</p> <p>Position Number: 999826</p> <p>Unit/Department: Women's Crew</p> <p>Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience</p> <p>Department Summary:</p> <p>Drake University's Varsity Women's Rowing program competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference at the Division 1 Level. Bulldog student-athletes thrive in the classroom and their respective field of play. Drake Athletics sport programs are considered Des Moines' Hometown Team.</p> <p>The department culture is predicated on a common value statement known as The Bulldog Way written by coaches, staff, and student-athletes. This intentional commitment to a championship culture is led by integrity, excellence, wanting the best for and best from one another, and aspiring to greatness provides a foundation for student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff to study, work, and play.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Drake University is seeking a Head Women's Rowing Coach to join its athletics department. The successful candidate will support a positive academic, athletic, and social environment for student-athletes while creating a culture of excellence and ethics. Prior college coaching experience is preferred.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>Knowledge and basic proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel </li><li>Proven experience leading a successful rowing program </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience playing at the collegiate level preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of applicable NCAA Rules and regulations. </li><li>Master's degree preferred. </li><li>Coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>20% - Design and implement effective training programs, training, and competition plans that maximize player development and team performance. - (Essential) </li><li>20% - Support a positive academic, athletic, and social environment for student-athletes within the women's rowing program creating a culture of excellence and ethics. - (Essential) </li><li>20% - Recruit and retain student-athletes able to thrive at Drake on and off the water - (Essential) </li><li>20% - Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and other staff as assigned. Direct and coordinate the activities of the assistant rowing staff in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the Women's Rowing program. - (Essential) </li><li>10% - Actively engage with alumni and the community to enhance program support and visibility. - (Essential) </li><li>5% - Manage the Rowing program operational budget, including travel and equipment. - (Essential) </li><li>5% - Demonstrate appropriate communication as it relates to internal (coaching staff, student-athletes, athletic staff) and external (fans, parents, alumni, prospects, campus community, etc.) - (Essential) </li><li>% - Performs other duties as assigned. - (Essential) </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants:</p> <p>For consideration, you must apply online.
