<p>South Knox Community Center is in need of a part-time Education Director. If you are interested in "dipping your toes in as a college student majoring in education" or someone who enjoys assisting children to enable better educational outcomes you need to apply-NOW!</p> <p>The Education Director is responsible for enabling youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, applying learning to everyday situations and embracing technology.</p> <p>KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):</p> <p>Program Development and Implementation</p> <ul> <li>Plans, develops, evaluates and oversees implementation of educational activities such as 21st Century, LEAP, Power Hour and other services that prepare youth for success </li><li>Monitors educational delivery and works with education staff to plan and implement improvements </li><li>Implements and oversees Project Learn philosophies and High Yield Learning activities throughout the Club </li><li>Communicates with Club staff, members and partner agencies to ensure understanding of tutoring, homework help, and educational learning opportunities </li><li>Establishes and maintains educational program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members </li><li>Tutors youth when needed ensuring that all youth have received assistance with homework </li></ul> <p>Strategic Planning</p> <ul> <li>Ensures the evaluation of educational programs on a continual basis and ensures programs/activities respond to member needs </li></ul> <p>Resource Management</p> <ul> <li>Controls educational program and activity expenditures within approved budget </li><li>Monitors educational program areas and provides constructive feedback to staff with regard to program delivery and member guidance and discipline </li><li>Trains and guides education instructors to ensure an environment that promotes the physical, intellectual, social and emotional well-being of youth, that incorporates guidance and discipline principles and that insures understanding of designated programs </li><li>Consults with parents about member issues </li><li>Implements and manages all required grants including completing monthly reports </li></ul> <p>Partnership Development</p> <ul> <li>Develops a good relationship with the schools and teachers to ensure youth are learning required materials </li><li>Recruits volunteers as needed to ensure enough help to assist with tutoring and homework help </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Visits schools and meets with teachers regularly </li><li>Completes training as required by licensing agency: 24 hours of training the first year of employment and 18 hours each additional year </li><li>Oversees special programs and/or events (i.e. Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participates in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary </li><li>Manages Club in absence of the Club and Program Director </li><li>Plans and coordinates field trips </li></ul> <p>INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <ul> <li>Dependability - proven ability to complete all tasks as assigned in an organized manner </li><li>Ensures appropriate responses to all organizational correspondence using brand appropriate language and logos </li><li>Dedication to service - demonstrated regular Attendance/Punctuality and an ability to learn and develop new skills </li><li>Commitment and attitude that personifies a positive attitude at all times and the ability to multi-task </li><li>Professionalism in appearance, ensuring that dress is professional and appropriate for function/situation based on organizational dress code policies </li><li>Specific Individual measurable outcomes as determined by supervisor </li></ul>
