<p>Position#Summary The Senior Buyer, acting within established procedural and fiduciary guidelines, performs a variety of independent financial, negotiating, and computer-based tasks related to the purchase of cost-effective and value-added supplies, equipment, and services. Produces complex cost analysis, evaluating contract offerings for price and quality. Assists with and places capital equipment acquisitions while monitoring contract utilization, providing support on new strategic programs and projects and maintaining effective partnerships with our distributors and manufacturers and negotiating non-GPO contracts. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Sources products. 2. Contract management. 3. Information management support. 4. Provides great customer service. 5. Manages recalls and product failures. 6. Assures invoices are paid correctly and on time. 7. Trainer and coordinator of Volunteers. Work Contact Group (Internal/External) Internal contacts include all members of the healthcare team. External contacts include vendors, suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, outside organizations, consultants, and peers Reporting Relationships Reports to (position): Administrative Director Materials Management Supervises (position(s): None Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: None Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: 3-5 years advanced training with courses in purchasing or other related business courses Preferred: None License, Registry or Certification: Required: None Preferred: Certified Resource and Materials Professional (CRMP) Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: â- Computer knowledge is essential, with knowledge of cost analysis process. â- Advanced use in excel. â- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with various types of people and levels. â- Must have thorough understanding of methods and procedures for negotiation, prudent purchasing practice, inventory control, shipping and receiving procedures and market conditions. â- Has basic knowledge of contract law. â- Has basic understanding of clinical supply and equipment use and application.
