<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>The APRN, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performing physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of injuries or illness of patients with GI related conditions in the out-patient setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Treating patients with various conditions related to the full scope of the digestive system, such as GI bleeds, atypical chest pain/GERD, dysphagia, gallstone disease, gastroparesis flares, Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis flares</p> </li><li> <p>Monitoring the patient's course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborating with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff</p> </li><li> <p>Displaying a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.</p> </li><li> <p>Documenting in a timely and thorough manner.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skills Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong medical decision-making skills</p> </li></ul> <p>SCHEDULE DETAILS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Schedule Details: Monday - Friday, could be either Inpatient or Outpatient</p> </li><li> <p>Hospitals covered: AH Children's and outreach clinics</p> </li><li> <p>Call Coverage: 5 days each month; 1 weekend each month.
