<p>Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Support Representative (BHSR) provides clerical support to the behavioral health service line while applying patient advocacy to help individuals overcome barriers to care. This role regularly interacts with both general and behavioral health patient populations to deliver front office support, assist in navigating care needs, identify barriers, and connect patients with appropriate resources.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Welcome patients as they contact the health center in-person or by telephone, and provide information about services and resources available. </li><li>Provide excellent customer service to patients and community agencies. </li><li>Redirect calls to appropriate parties, as necessary. </li><li>Handle patient registration, check-in, and check-out. </li><li>Maintain working knowledge of billing procedures and payment options for under-insured patients. </li><li>Field patient complaints or concerns promptly and professionally. </li><li>Schedule appointments according to scheduling procedures and guidelines. </li><li>Manage referrals to Behavioral Health services within the organization and maintain a working knowledge of other services available in the community. </li><li>Assist in care coordination efforts which may include communication with various community organizations, health plans, facilities, and specialists. </li><li>Proactively address needs of patients and their families through the concept of population management. </li><li>Effectively communicate with all patients with specific attention to vulnerable patient populations. </li><li>Act as a resource to help patients overcome barriers to care and to accomplish their health and wellness goals. Example: Set up transportation to appointments, provide information about food banks, assist patients with applying for resources, etc. </li><li>Provide general clerical support to providers and staff. </li><li>Cross-train in general BH Advocate duties and provider support as appropriate or directed. </li><li>Cross-train in general front office duties and provide support as appropriate or directed. </li><li>Cross-train in outreach and participate as directed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by BH Advocate Manager, Site Managers, and/or Operations team. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate/GED. </li><li>Ability and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration during the most trying situations. </li><li>Friendly, open-minded personality with the desire to work with the public. </li><li>Understanding of community based organizations and resources. </li><li>Knowledge of and adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards. </li></ul> <p>Monday - 9:00AM-4:00PM</p> <p>Tuesday - 8:00AM-6:30PM</p> <p>Wednesday - 8:00AM-6:30PM</p> <p>Thursday - 8:00AM-6:30PM</p> <p>Friday - 8:00AM-12:00PM</p>
