<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Please Note: Must be certified in infectious diseases</p> <p>Responsible for providing primary healthcare to patients and families, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. Works under direct supervision of a physician following established guidelines as required and within established scope of practice.</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates the ability to perform physical exams on all patients, neonate through the geriatric population. </li><li>Obtains and documents patient's medical history. Identifies health risk factors. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to diagnose and treat common acute illnesses. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to diagnose and treat chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension. </li><li>Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. </li><li>Orders and interprets diagnostic tests within established scope of practice and consults with medical director or specialists, i.e., laboratory work, x-rays. </li><li>Provides well childcare; women's healthcare, family planning, and prenatal care as approved under delineation of privileges. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to prescribe medications pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy and Drug Enforcement Agency and non-pharmacological therapies based on the patient's diagnoses, health history and age. </li><li>Encourages positive health behaviors for the maintenance of health and the prevention of disease. This is done through education and counseling. </li><li>Other reasonable duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education: Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program</p> <p>Experience: Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in the State of Louisiana (or valid compact state) in good standing with certification in the practice of Infectious diseases.</p> <p>Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).</p> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Able to perform minor office surgeries, apply splints, I&D </li><li>BLS/ACLS Certification required </li><li>Current, valid DEA and CDS licenses required (for applicable specialties) </li></ul> <p>Salary Description</p> <p>$110,000 - $130,000 annually</p>
