This newly created position will oversee agent field training; collaborate with the Administration Branch on matters of training, fleet, and agent equipment purchases; assist with the acquisition and management of grants within the branch; provide quality assurance of ICMS; assist with branch policy creation and workflow; and other duties as assigned. The position will be part of Technical Services, and will report to SAC over Technical Operations. Wide latitude is given to this employee to accomplish the tasks as needed. Employee is assigned to recognize issues related to their responsibilities and to determine appropriate solutions. Employee is assigned to work with those under their supervision and those outside of their supervision to bring resolutions. Employee independently determines the application of policy necessary to complete assignments. Assignments may be given in written or verbal form and will generally include only the general parameters of the task. Employee is expected to use initiative, discretion and judgment in completing all tasks.</p> <p>Northeast Child Victim Unit ASAC</p> <p>The Investigative Branch would like to announce the opening of the NE Child Victim ASAC position. This position will supervise agents who predominantly investigate crimes against children, process and assign internet crimes against children tips, and manage investigative operation in the execution of warrants. This ASAC position will be required to reside in the Northeast region with preference given to Topeka.</p> <p>Qualifications for Special Agent:</p> <p>Licensing & Certification</p> <ul> <li>Current law enforcement certification and five (5) years law enforcement experience or current law enforcement certification and Bachelor's degree and four (4) years law enforcement experience. </li><li>Possess valid driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current Special Agent at the KBI. </li><li>5 years as a KBI Special Agent </li><li>Pursuant to K.S.A. 74-5605, applicants must be United States citizens and at least 21 years of age. </li><li>This position requires the use of a firearm for law enforcement duties. Therefore, to be eligible for appointment, candidates cannot be prohibited from shipping, transporting, possessing or receiving a firearm or ammunition under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) or (n), K.S.A. 2013 Supp. 21-6301 or K.S.A. 2013 Supp. 21-6304. </li><li>Must be certified by or eligible for certification by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training. This means, among other requirements, that the candidate must: </li><li>Be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age. </li><li>Not have been convicted of a crime that would constitute a felony under the laws of the state, a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, or a misdemeanor offense that the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training determines reflects on the honesty, trustworthiness, integrity or competence of the applicant as defined by rules and regulations of the Commission. </li></ul> <p>As used in this section, "conviction" includes rendering of judgment by a military court martial pursuant to the uniform code of military justice, by a court of the United States or by a court of competent jurisdiction in any state, whether or not expunged; and any diversion agreement entered into for a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and any diversion agreement entered into on or after July 1, 1995, for a felony.</p> <ul> <li>Have graduated from a high school accredited by the Kansas state board of education or the appropriate accrediting agency of another state jurisdiction or have obtained the equivalent of a high school education as defined by rules and regulations of the Commission. </li><li>Be of good moral character sufficient to warrant public trust in the applicant as a law enforcement officer. </li><li>Be able to effectively testify in court. Applicants must not have any Brady/Giglio material in their background to be eligible for hiring. </li></ul> <p>Travel</p> <ul> <li>Assistant Special Agents in Charge are expected to travel to a variety of locations around the state to competently and diligently discharge their assigned duties. Regular in-state and limited out-of-state travel may be required. A valid driver's license is required when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State. </li></ul> <p>Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Candidates are subject to a pre-employment process to include a polygraph examination, drug-screening test, physical examination, psychological testing and a complete background investigation, including reference check of past and present employers. The pre-employment polygraph and background investigation process will be waived for current KBI personnel who have previously completed the requirements. </li><li>Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate required in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.
