The Director directly oversees Labor Relations, employee relations, performance management, training and development and rewards and recognition for university staff and faculty. </p> <p>The Director will shape the institutional vision and compelling message of diversity, inclusion and belonging by creating aspirational goals, plans for institutional change, and assessment of initiatives among the University community. The Director will accomplish this by developing, planning, recommending and executing strategies to foster and achieve the University's diversity, inclusion and belonging goals.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL HUMAN RESOURCES JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Manage the Labor Relations process including contract administration, investigations, grievances and other labor matters. APSCUF, AFSCME, POA, SPFPA and APSCUF Coaches. </li><li>Assist with the evaluation and analysis in the position classification process; Verify compliance with Commonwealth and CBA guidelines while clarifying job content; Manage special classification projects. </li><li>Remain current on all collective bargaining agreements as they pertain to compensation, leave, benefit entitlements and labor relations issues. Organize staff training on labor issues. </li><li>Manages the Universities employee relations matters in conjunction with the Executive Director of Human Resources, Labor Relations and Compliance </li><li>Performing exit interviews and providing periodic summaries of comments and trends to senior leadership. </li><li>Ensures calendar of human resources events such as faculty renewals, evaluations etc. are consistent with labor agreements. </li><li>Manages and address issues related to employee performance management including investigations, pre-disciplinary conferences, investigative hearings and progressive disciplinary processes. </li><li>Collaborates with Social Equity department and acts on investigation outcomes as necessary </li><li>Work with HR staff to develop and manage employee orientation programs. </li><li>Manage annual performance appraisal and reporting process. </li><li>Other related tasks and duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DIVERSITY, INCLUSION AND BELONGING JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Provide strategic vision and leadership for university initiatives relating to diversity, inclusion and belonging. </li><li>Encourage University efforts to provide students with cross-cultural competencies and monitor issues where students, faculty or staff members may experience forms of discrimination or marginalization. </li><li>Implement an institution-wide comprehensive education and training initiative to cultivate a campus climate of inclusion and respect for all students, faculty and staff. </li><li>Plan and implement diversity seminars for students, staff and faculty. </li><li>Serve as the subject-matter expert in bias awareness in recruitment, selection and other employment decisions. Provide consultation and coaching to managers and supervisors to improve cross-cultural communication. </li><li>Develop proposals and work collaboratively with other areas of the university to provide content for diversity sensitivity and cultural competence awareness publications and communications (i.e. website and social media platforms). </li><li>Develop proposals and recommendations for institutional policy revisions that will facilitate the fostering of a diverse and inclusive community. </li><li>Ensure the University follows workplace discrimination rules and regulations. </li><li>Master's degree in human resources, educational leadership, organizational development, public administration, or related field, required. </li><li>Seven to ten years increasingly responsible human resources management experience, including work in labor relations and negotiations. Five years of progressive leadership experience. A minimum of five years of project management experience, to include at least three years performing human resources related responsibilities in a university setting. </li><li>A minimum of five years' experience working with diverse communities to include many dimensions of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Experience leading change management and program development. Proven excellence in organization, planning, and leadership. Demonstrated understanding and experience of Diversity and Inclusion and Belonging best practices. Ability to create and sustain an environment of mutual respect, while learning about differences in our community to support responsible and inclusive work and learning environments for faculty, staff, and students. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge & Skills, Abilities:</p> <p>Effective decision making.</p> <p>Excellent communication, verbal and written.</p> <p>Develop solutions to problems.</p> <p>Organize and plan effectively.</p> <p>Master attention to detail in analyzing and evaluating information.</p> <p>Complete multiple tasks.</p> <p>Interact with diverse publics in a friendly and welcoming manner.</p> <p>Work effectively in a team environment.</p> <p>Computer Skills (Microsoft Word Suite and other related software).</p> <p>Make recommendations to the area that serves to enhance, correct, or streamline program operational activities.</p> <p>A complete online application will include the following attachments.
