Join AbbVie's Discovery Biotherapeutics team as a Senior Scientist, where you'll have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technologies for discovering and developing novel biotherapeutics.</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>In this pivotal role, you will utilize your expertise in AI/ML and computational protein design to drive the development of cutting-edge biotherapeutics. You'll have access to leading modeling tools and collaborate with a cross-functional team focused on protein production and characterization.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement state-of-the-art AI/ML methodologies for computational protein design, including fine-tuning protein language models and generative protein design. </li><li>Stay abreast of advancements in NLP, ML, and generative AI to build novel tools that enhance therapeutic discovery and development. </li><li>Collaborate with internal experts to optimize the computational discovery infrastructure, offering both individual and team-based innovative solutions. </li><li>Communicate complex scientific ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Cheminformatics, Chemical Engineering, or related fields, with typically 10-12+ years (BS), 8-10+ years (MS), or 0-4+ years (PhD) of experience. </li><li>Proven track record in developing machine learning models for chemical and biological data, including AI/ML-enabled molecular generation and affinity prediction. </li><li>Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with cloud computing capabilities. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated creativity and the ability to contribute individually and collaboratively. </li><li>Experience in modeling protein sequence, structure, and function and a history of related scientific publications. </li><li>Versatile communicator who can elucidate complex ideas to non-specialists and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. </li></ul> <p>Position will be hired based on level of experience- Senior Scientist I or Senior Scientist II.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Applicable only to applicants</p>
