In short, We Enable Possibility?.</p> <p>Your Role</p> <p>Lead the actuarial pricing team for a unique group of business units: Construction Middle Market, Retail Energy & Multinational. Coverages in these areas include workers compensation, general liability, auto liability/physical damage, umbrella, contractor professional liability, subcontractor default, defense base act and foreign casualty. This position reports to SVP, Actuarial Pricing.</p> <ul> <li>Business Leader: This role will grow & establish our upper middle market casualty business within the construction, oil & gas & defense contractors. Working closely with BU leadership and strategic analytics to create new actuarial analyses and large, middle market processes that provide actionable information to BU leaders to guide strategy. </li><li>Technical Pricing: Establish and improve technical pricing by developing accurate assessments of risk; this will include both refining the current structure as well as finding new predictors and building new models. </li><li>Profitability Reviews: Provide insight to BU leadership and senior executives on the current health of the book, including finding meaningful differentiation between different products and segments, as well as growth opportunities. </li><li>Focus on an exciting variety of specialty products like professional liability for contractors, subcontractor default, defense base act & foreign casualty, as well as traditional casualty lines for middle market construction & oil & gas risks. </li></ul> <p>Why work at Arch</p> <ul> <li>Arch highly values actuaries: Arch's CEO, CFO, President and many business unit leads are actuaries. We love the positive attitudes and collaborate environment, and proudly recommend Arch to friends and former colleagues. </li></ul> <p>Key Evaluation Criteria</p> <ul> <li>Vice Presidents generally are FCAS, have significant and broad industry experience with demonstrated success independently turning questions and problems into solutions, managing teams, and partnering with business unit executives. </li><li>Experience in construction risk pricing is a plus. </li><li>This role highly values strong entrepreneurial skills, building new and innovative underwriting tools and advanced research projects. </li><li>Superior communication skills are important for partnering with underwriters and presenting to business leaders. </li></ul> <p>For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.</p> <p>For NYC and Jersey City: $174,800 - $271,446/year</p> <ul> <li>Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
