<p>Arctic peak is looking for a Site Safety Health Officer to work in Edgewood MD. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for the organization's environmental, health and safety programs for assuring compliance with Company policies, OSHA, EPA, DA and other applicable regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Proactively identifies health, safety, and environmental hazards and implement effective controls to minimize risks. Engage area supervisors in the JHA review, or new development.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts inspections of departments to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures. Document inspection findings and implement effective corrective actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and provides training to all project staff on issues related to health, safety, and the environment (e.g., bloodborne pathogens, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, defensive driving, powered industrial trucks, personal protective equipment [PPE]).</p> </li><li> <p>Manages environmental programs, such as maintaining permits, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001, and managing hazardous waste collection and satellite accumulation areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Selects and maintains all equipment for health, safety, and environmental protection (e.g., PPE, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, forklifts).</p> </li><li> <p>Responds to incidents related to health, safety, and the environment and notify all pertinent company and customer staff. Investigates incidents and report findings to program management causes and actions to take to prevent reoccurrences.</p> </li><li> <p>Interfaces with subcontractors on matters related to Environmental, Health and Safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Generates and submit reports related to health, safety, and environmental metrics and systems as required by management or regulation.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains all records related to safety, health, and environmental protection and as required by programs, policy, regulation, or contract clauses.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes incident reporting and other health, safety, and environmental systems as required by the Company.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages employee and stakeholder engagement in the site health, safety, and environmental programs (e.g., safety committee, safety awareness program).</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>A minimum of Five years' experience in safety, health, and environmental programs. An expert understanding of the health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to the site.</p> </li><li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Five (5) years' related field experience directing vertical construction projects in the superintendent, QC or SSHO role.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with electrical and mechanical systems is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of the course entitled Construction Quality Management for Contractors or ability to complete within 30 days of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level.</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of OSHA 1926, 1910, and USACE EM-385-1-1 regulatory requirements as it pertains to heavy industrial or commercial construction.</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of applicable environmental regulatory requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety course or ability to complete within 30 days of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>A comprehensive understanding of the USACE 3-Phase Quality Control System.</p> </li></ul> <p>Job ID</p> <p>2025-17222</p> <p>Work Type</p> <p>On-Site</p> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>135,000-142,000</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Regular - The company offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and a range of other voluntary benefits.
