<p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced and passionate Dance Instructor to work with our members and lead our classes. This role will be responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment and teaching students of all ages, from beginners to advanced levels. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and creative instructor with excellent communication skills. The individual hired for this position will work under the direction of the Regional Programming Director and the Family Center Operations Director.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plan and teach dance classes, including setting up and breaking down the studio</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement lesson plans that are tailored to the needs of each student</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a clean and organized studio space</p> </li><li> <p>Provide individualized instruction and guidance</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Adhere to all safety regulation</p> </li><li> <p>Attend and actively participate in all meetings as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Incorporate the four character values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and adhere to the CMY Code of Conduct</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate the Y mission and objectives to the community.</p> </li><li> <p>All other duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in all other areas as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>The Dance Instructor will meet the qualifications set forth by the Y in Central Maryland. Staff shall be of good character and reputation; capable of carrying out assigned responsibilities; capable of accepting training and supervision; and capable of communicating effectively both orally and in writing as applicable to the job responsibility. Minimum qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Flexible Schedule, days, nights and weekends - this position requires significant amount of evening and weekend attendance</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient computer skills</p> </li><li> <p>Current CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certification (or within 30 days of hire)</p> </li><li> <p>YMCA New Staff Orientation and 6 hours of child abuse prevention training</p> </li><li> <p>At least 21 years of age</p> </li></ul>
