<p>Job Description:</p> <p>SUMMARY: Reports directly to the building principal. Promote the educational and reading development of each student to the maximum extent possible</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates appropriate preparation for instruction. </li><li>Implements a variety of effective teaching strategies. </li><li>Provides opportunities for individual differences. </li><li>Implements instructional objectives effectively. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter. </li><li>Uses a variety of teaching materials. </li><li>Uses instructional time effectively. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to motivate students. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with students. </li><li>Provides students with specific evaluative feedback. </li></ul> <p>CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Organizes classroom environment to promote learning. </li><li>Manages student behavior in constructive manner. </li></ul> <p>INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with students, staff and parents/patrons. </li></ul> <p>PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in professional growth activities. </li><li>Follows policies and procedures of the school district. </li><li>Assumes responsibilities outside of the classroom as they relate to school. </li><li>Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Hold a current Missouri State Teaching Certificate. </li><li>Hold a current Missouri Special Reading K-12 certificate. </li><li>Have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably a Master's Degree. </li><li>Have a broad knowledge of reading programs, strategies, and current best practices. </li><li>The ability to serve in the role as reading/language resource. </li><li>Such alternatives as the board may find appropriate and acceptable. </li><li>Successful completion of background check by Human Resources. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or </li><li>Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or </li><li>Prolonged periods of working on a computer. </li><li>Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects. </li><li>Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet. </li><li>Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups. </li><li>Requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time. </li><li>The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard free environment. </li><li>Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed. </li></ul> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
