<p>University Director of Enrollment and Marketing, Office of Special Programs</p> <p>POSITION DETAILS</p> <p>The Office of Special Programs (OSP) within the University Office of Academic Affairs at The City University of New York (CUNY) oversees key CUNY-wide initiatives that promote inclusion and support the academic success of underrepresented student groups in higher education. The College Discovery (CD) and Percy Ellis Sutton SEEK (Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge) programs serve talented and motivated students whose academic records may not fully reflect their potential. These programs provide a range of support services designed to strengthen foundational skills, enhance academic performance across all courses, and maximize retention and persistence through graduation.</p> <p>Under the leadership of the University Dean of Special Programs, the University Director of Enrollment and Marketing will play a critical role in revitalizing enrollment for the CD and SEEK programs by developing and implementing a comprehensive enrollment strategy. This individual will also elevate the visibility and recognition of the CD/SEEK brand through targeted marketing and advertising campaigns, ensuring a strong presence across relevant channels. Additionally, the Director will oversee campus-based recruitment practices to ensure alignment with emerging standards in higher education.</p> <p>The University Director of Enrollment and Marketing will establish guidelines, evaluate programmatic initiatives to improve student enrollment, and provide ongoing consultation and guidance to campus program directors and staff. This position is well-positioned to drive the growth and success of the CD and SEEK programs while maintaining a commitment to excellence and student-centered practices.</p> <p>In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, other essential duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and implement comprehensive enrollment and marketing strategies specifically for the CD and SEEK programs, focusing on both immediate and long-term growth in student enrollment.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze enrollment data and trends to inform decision-making, continuously evaluating and adapting strategies to meet evolving needs and goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide oversight and guidance to the financial aid and admissions staff within the OSP Office, ensuring efficient and student-centered processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), to create strong pipelines for prospective students.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare reports and proposals for programs and new initiatives, including testimony for hearings, presentations for meetings, and reports for OSP and Enrollment Management programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Offer professional development and guidance to CD/SEEK Directors, equipping them with effective recruitment and enrollment strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with enrollment offices at both the central and campus levels to foster a culture of continuous improvement in enrollment processes and outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent OSP at internal and external meetings and recruitment events, and organize, lead, and participate in OSP-sponsored conferences, retreats, and related events.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and present regular performance reports on enrollment and marketing outcomes to university leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the Senior Advisor for Academic Affairs Messaging and Outreach and CUNY's Office of Marketing and Communication in enhancing outreach, engagement, and recruitment efforts.</p> </li></ul> <p>NOTE:</p> <p>Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience required.</p> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Advanced degree in a directly related discipline with eight years' related experience managing, developing, implementing, and promoting student development or enrichment</p> </li><li> <p>programs in a college or university with supervisory and financial/budget management responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to respond empathetically to students, plus strong work ethic, character, and personal integrity to work with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation, presentation, and group facilitation skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Detail-oriented and accurate with strong analytical, research, evaluation, and writing skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proactive, diplomatic, and collaborative work style with strong supervisory, interpersonal communication, group facilitation, relationship building, and presentation skills to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, employers, and external partners, and successfully navigate complex work environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Dependable with effective organizational, time management and priority setting skills to manage multiple assignments and projects and meet deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Computer proficiency using research, academic, administrative, and financial systems, databases, and programs, plus Microsoft Office programs, and remote/virtual meeting and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).</p> </li></ul> <p>CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW</p> <p>Directs the planning, development, and implementation of University-wide student-focused co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.</p> <ul> <li>Partnering with University and College personnel, oversees needs assessments, develops programs and services, and implements related policies and procedures </li><li>Manages fiscal planning, allocations, marketing, and fundraising; oversees service agreements, partnerships, and relationships with vendors/contractors providing on-site services </li><li>Evaluates cost, usage, and effectiveness of student programs supporting engagement, success, retention, and enrichment of student life and the college experience </li><li>Ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and University policies </li><li>Provides leadership of the department, managing professional and administrative staff </li><li>Performs related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>CUNY TITLE</p> <p>Higher Education Officer</p> <p>FLSA</p> <p>Exempt</p> <p>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</p> <p>The salary range is $141,643 - $155,388 , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.</p> <p>CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases.
