<p>SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST</p> <p>Salary: $25.48 / Non-Exempt</p> <p>Full Time: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm</p> <p>Hybrid - Office/Field and Home</p> <ul> <li>Majority of our positions are remote, but services are provided either hybrid or in person </li></ul> <p>Benefits and Perks: Supportive, fun and friendly team environment!</p> <ul> <li>Clients/Families we serve reside in the South Los Angeles, Compton, Watts and Lynwood area. </li></ul> <p>SHIELDS' mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.</p> <p>PRIMARY DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Providing linkage and referral to clients self-referred and referred by other professionals. </li><li>Provide linkage and referrals to clients and their families in accordance with appropriate level of service. </li><li>Coordinate support services, including but not limited to linking clients to auxiliary services and assisting clients and their families with accessing appropriate resources. </li><li>Coordinating support services for clients to address identified needs. </li><li>Coordinate and maintain appropriate service provision with referral source, i.e. Department of Children and Family Services or Community Agencies. </li><li>Enter program data in electronic database including updated community resources, client information, client contact, and generate reports. </li><li>Provide individuals/families with supportive counseling services at a minimum of twice a month, more if needs to support individual/family. </li><li>Complete client visits in their home, community, and at agency offices. </li><li>Maintaining client charts, notes, assessments, and other needed documentation on Exym data system. </li><li>Respond to requests for information in a timely manner. </li><li>Maintain positive working relationships with local linkage and referral agencies. </li><li>Maintain a working knowledge of existing community programs and resources, the services provided and eligibility requirements. </li><li>Maintain caseload documentation in compliance with all agency policies and procedures as well as federal, state, county and local regulations. </li><li>Attend all meetings, in-service and outside trainings as required. </li><li>Assist with the coordination of program events and activities </li><li>Attend weekly supervision with supervisor, program staff meetings, and program events. </li><li>Engage in Outreach events internally at Shields and externally in the community. </li><li>Facilitate processing groups and maintain documentation of group attendance and CCF data requirements. </li><li>Maintaining weekly schedule and share with supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Benefits and Perks: Supportive, fun and friendly team environment!</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Wages and room for growth </li><li>Vacation and sick leave </li><li>Employer paid medical insurance for employee and family </li><li>Employer paid dental, vision and life insurance </li><li>Chiropractic services </li><li>Retirement 403b plan and supplemental insurance benefits </li><li>17 paid holidays, effective upon hire </li><li>Paid birthday holiday, effective upon hire </li><li>Paid anniversary day off of 1-5 days per year depending on years of service </li><li>Anniversary bonus after 5 years of service </li><li>Winter break </li><li>Pet Insurance </li><li>BBS supervision, on-going clinical training and CEUs available </li><li>Employee referral bonus </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Employee discount programs to theme parks, movies, hotels and car rentals </li><li>Paid educational leave </li><li>Paid drive time and mileage reimbursement </li><li>Eligible for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness </li><li>Employee Recognition </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>POSITION REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>These specifications are general guidelines based upon the minimum, ordinarily considered essential, to satisfactory performance in this position. Individual skills and abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.</p> <p>To perform effectively in this position, the employee in this position is required to have:</p> <ul> <li>Basic advocacy skills. </li><li>Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Efficiently use the personal computer to include a variety or word processing software. </li><li>Utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make decisions. </li><li>Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and SHIELDS For Families philosophies. </li><li>Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge. </li><li>Provides services within a culturally sensitive, ethnic informed model of practice and is respectful to the community and clients. </li><li>Experience with substance abuse and an under-served population is preferred. Have access to reliable transportation. </li><li>This position may require the employee to be co-located at one of the SHIELDS Family Resource Centers throughout SPA 6. </li><li>A valid California driver's license is required for this position, as driving is an essential function of the role and is required for field work, client crisis response and emergencies. A valid car insurance and registration is required. </li><li>COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable. </li></ul> <p>This job is typically met with a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience or a High School diploma with three years of experience providing direct services in social services or related field.
