<p>2026 TRP | Housing Action Corps | Organizing</p> <p>The Community Organizer VISTA will serve with The Resurrection Project in Chicago, IL from September 2026-2027. The Resurrection Project (TRP) is part of Housing Action Corps, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. Housing Action Corps members receive custom training, support, and networking opportunities in housing and communitraity development, in addition to the traditional benefits of AmeriCorps VISTA. We serve 2,000+ individuals annually through Full Circle Homes, our comprehensive homeownership model. A HUD-approved housing counseling agency, TRP's services go beyond that through TRP Realty, TRP Lending, and as a developer of affordable homes. The Housing Organizer VISTA will promote affordable homeownership in TRP target communities by enhancing organizing and outreach strategies, developing community partnerships, increasing opportunities for resident engagement, and training community residents/volunteers on housing justice and TRP housing services. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who is bilingual in Spanish and English. They must care about our communities and have a desire to learn and work towards housing justice. They should demonstrate great customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to build relationships and work with others from diverse backgrounds. They should also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have access to a car. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.</p> <p>Member Duties : Facing decades of disinvestment, Back of the Yards residents need increased access to quality housing services, affordable homes, and affordable home loans. Our Full Circle Homes program helps residents reduce debt, build credit, and maintain affordable homeownership, but not enough households in our community are aware of TRP's resources and services. The Housing Organizer VISTA will expand access by enhancing community organizing and strategic outreach, securing partnerships, increasing resident engagement, and driving more participants to Full Circle Homes. The VISTA will collaborate with the Director of Organizing for Housing to create outreach materials, coordinate community presentations, build local partnerships, and organize residents.
