<p>The department of Student Life at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a CARE Team Case Manager. This will be a 10 month assignment.</p> <p>About the Opportunity:</p> <p>The CARE Team Case Manager is charged with addressing the needs of distressed students who come to the attention of the University's CARE Team through a variety of interventions, referrals and follow up services. The Case Manager is responsible for psychosocial needs assessment, case management, and collaboration and consultation with faculty administrators, health care providers, parents, colleagues within the Division of Student Life, and the University at large. Additional activities include community outreach and education, data collection, assessment, and other related special projects. Check out retirement health insurance benefits, retirement income, and FAQ's. </li><li>Wellness programs </li></ul> <p>What you'll do:</p> <p>Case Management:</p> <ul> <li>Management of incoming CARE Team referrals: review of report for accurate, complete, and unbiased information; gather student data (this may include but is not limited to: reviewing campus police reports, CARE reports, Office of Student Conduct records, Title IX documentation, Navigate, connection with campus offices and services, and related education records); conduct initial triage of report and determine routing for intervention. </li><li>Provide comprehensive case management with students experiencing varying levels of crisis and concern including assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating actions required to meet the students' need. </li><li>Assist in management of crises and emergent situations pertaining to individual and camps safety; identify next steps, implement appropriate policy and practice, utilizing appropriate notification and crisis response protocol as needed. </li><li>Provide student of concern assessments to inform interventions and recommendations for action. </li><li>Provide CARE Team meeting support by developing agendas, recording notes, and coordinating care for students referred to group </li><li>Manage caseload including conducting or assisting with interventions of referred students, review case progress, make appropriate referrals and follow-up, and aid in accessing resources and navigating the University system, and maintaining related documentation. </li><li>Help students make informed decisions by acting as their advocate regarding accessing WVU and community supports and their academic status and enrollment options. </li><li>When requested, meet with students during their hospitalization to provide support, discuss resources, and make plans for return to campus upon discharge. </li><li>Establishing and maintaining collaborative and consultative working relationships within the University, particularly, but not limited to: Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services, Housing and Residence Life, Office of Student Conduct, Title IX, University Police Department, Office of Accessibility Services, International Students and Scholars Services, Academic and Financial units. </li></ul> <p>Administrative:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and update CARE Team procedures, processes and engagement interventions </li><li>Suggest modifications in practices and interventions that identify and address gaps in services and procedures relative to students at risk with the CARE Team purview and greater campus policy. </li><li>Maintain awareness of current research, higher education policy, and legal updates that effect the operation of a behavioral intervention team and implications for campus wide policy and liability. </li><li>Develop and manage the Symplicity Advocate CARE module to include case processing, access rights, documentation, data collection, and related troubleshooting. </li><li>Assists in campus wide crisis management, emergency response, and postvention as needed. </li><li>Assist with the development and implementation of training for Team members to include best practices and comparative school info. </li><li>Assist with necessary communications to students, University personnel, and Team members. </li><li>Carries out special projects, reports, or essential duties as assigned by the CARE Team Chair. </li><li>Serve on committees and working groups on campus and in the community pertaining to prevention, retention, programming and student success. </li><li>Act on behalf of the CARE Team Chair/Senior Associate Dean of Students in his/her absence. </li><li>Master's degree in Higher Education or related field preferred </li><li>Experience in crisis intervention an successful conflict resolution </li><li>Experience managing complex situations involving students, parents, staff, and faculty </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills </li><li>Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered </li><li>All qualifications must be met by the time of employment </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to quickly build rapport with students and colleagues </li><li>Ability to synthesize information regarding complex student issues </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to students personal and academic development </li><li>Functions and communicates effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities and cultural contexts </li><li>Strong administrative and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to professionally and appropriately manage sensitive and private information </li><li>Knowledge of WVU and community resources and the ability to make referrals </li><li>Knowledge of current regulations relevant to work in higher education (i.e., Title II & IX, FERPA, HIPAA, and Clery Act). </li><li>Experience using technology to track and manage data (e.g. Advocate, Navigate, Microsoft Excel, Qualtrics) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in Higher Education </li></ul>
