<p>The Welder / Grinder is responsible for basic understanding and competency in welding and grinding of a variety of different metals, shapes, tanks, vessels, piping, components, etc. This position performs precision smoothing, polishing, and grinding of surfaces.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Set up, operate, and maintain manual welding, grinding, and/or cutting equipment. </li><li>Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the industry. </li><li>Inspect and perform quality checks to ensure conformance to established tolerances and specifications. </li><li>Perform inspection of work pieces for quality defects and communicate appropriately. </li><li>Perform welding and grinding procedures accurately to avoid warping, shrinking, and distortion. </li><li>Position and secure work pieces safely using overhead cranes, hoists, and other appropriate lifting devices. </li><li>Grind work pieces to a #4 (32 RA) finish using approved safety processes and procedures. </li><li>Set up, perform, and maintain various types of polishing equipment as needed. </li><li>Obtain and maintain at least one ASME Certification to be used as required. </li><li>Meet all company quality standards and follow defined SOP's. </li><li>Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position. </li><li>Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position. </li><li>The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of metal working process's. </li><li>Knowledge of various welding techniques including TIG, MIG, etc. </li><li>Basic knowledge of grinding abrasives and material surface finishes. </li><li>Understanding of manufacturing tools and their proper use. </li><li>Ability to read a tape measure. </li><li>Read, interpret, and follow blue prints. </li><li>Basic computer and mathematical skills. </li><li>Mechanical aptitude. </li><li>Attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency. </li><li>Willingness to adapt in a dynamic work environment. </li><li>Ability and willingness to follow directions while working independently. </li><li>Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a team. </li><li>Ability to operate various Powered Industrial Vehicles. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>HS Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. </li><li>One (1) year welding and/or grinding experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Base Compensation Range: $25.00 - $29.29 per hour</p> <p>Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary based on compa-ny performance (as of 2024).</p> <p>Health and Ancillary Benefit Overview:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance with low employee premiums </li><li>Free off-site medical clinic </li><li>Company paid Life Insurance & Short-Term Disability </li><li>401k - Employer match of up to 4.0% for coworker contributions of 8.0% or more </li><li>Company covers tuition costs up to $5,250.00 annually, contingent on course completion and grades </li><li>Paid Time Off and Sick, Family & Parental Paid Time Off </li><li>Ten (10) Paid Holidays </li><li>Four-day work weeks, varied shifts, and flexible remote work options depending on position </li><li>Career progression program for advancement </li><li>Free in-house welding, grinding & machine operation school </li><li>In-house training program </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures.
