They are responsible for evaluating the situation, ensuring the safety of the individual, and offering immediate assistance and resources to help them regain emotional stability and well-being. The Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist is also responsible for clinical guidance for direct service staff, support staff training needs and maintain close working relationships the Program Director.</p> <p>Crisis Intervention and Direct Service Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Counsel clients as needed when presenting with acute crisis and in danger of harm to </li></ul> <p>self or others.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) statements and CCOP </li><li>consults as needed. </li><li>Provide support to staff serving clients that are undergoing acute crises and help </li><li>clients experiencing other distressing issues. </li><li>Apply effective crisis intervention skills, suicide prevention and intervention </li><li>strategies, and problem-solving techniques when responding to individuals in crisis or </li><li>supporting direct service staff working with these clients. </li><li>Work collaboratively with F&CS staff to engage clients in appropriate services </li><li>Provide clinical leadership when needed in crisis situations. This could include case </li><li>consultation or working directly with a client. </li><li>Consult with other health professionals to ask for assistance for any recovery and </li><li>intervention options as needed. </li><li>Recommend any treatment adjustments and interventions through client interview </li><li>and the case review process. </li><li>Consult with F&CS Crisis Intervention team and agency Suicidologist for complex & </li><li>difficult client situations. </li></ul> <p>Clinical Guidance</p> <ul> <li>Assist staff by supervising complex cases and providing treatment recommendations, </li><li>adjustments or interventions needed for clients. This could be completed in case </li><li>consultation, client interview or case review process. </li><li>Provide clinical guidance, training, and expertise for staff who are lacking crisis </li><li>intervention experience. </li><li>Facilitate team meetings as a backup to Clinical Supervisor, including huddles and </li><li>high risk staffing. </li><li>Provide feedback on ways to improve the delivery and types of clinical services offered </li><li>to clients </li><li>Provide supportive environment for employees by modeling and teaching work </li><li>management, change management, communication skills, self-care and address </li><li>personal barriers and strengths </li><li>Advise on treatment for clients who may need more intensive or more specialized </li><li>mental health care, supportive treatment options until clients can be engaged in </li><li>outpatient care as appropriate. </li><li>Attend Incident Review Committee to provide case presentation, discuss </li><li>recommendations, and ensure recommendations are implemented throughout the </li><li></li><li>Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors to ensure ongoing staff and client needs are </li><li></li><li>Oversee and review clinical work procedures as needed working with Clinical Director </li><li>and Program Director to implement changes or process improvements needed. </li></ul> <p>Training</p> <ul> <li>Identify staff training needs to be addressed by the agency clinical training </li><li>department and/or individual programs. </li><li>Assist with supporting and training current or newly hired clinical supervisory staff. </li><li>Develop monthly training schedule and deliver information in program meetings. </li></ul> <p>Maintain a Close Working Relationship with Program Director</p> <ul> <li>Inform the Clinical Director and/or Program Director promptly of all relevant staff </li><li>morale and employee satisfaction issues, political, financial, clinical, and liability </li><li>issues and make recommendations for any changes in procedures, protocols and/or </li><li></li><li>Recommend new processes and changes in protocols and procedures. </li><li>Identify agenda items for staff meetings. </li></ul> <p>Develop and Manage Self for Success</p> <ul> <li>Stay actively informed of emerging best practice and enhanced protocols for suicide </li><li>and homicide prevention and intervention. Collaborate with clinical director and </li><li>program director to implement changes and best practices used in program. </li><li>Actively enhance knowledge of critical analysis in decision making. </li><li>Understand and develop advanced evidence-based practice and specialty skills. </li><li>Model essential behaviors for program staff. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Trained in mental health crisis intervention. </li><li>Training in suicide prevention and intervention is preferred. </li><li>Crisis intervention experience is preferred </li><li>Mental health consultants must have excellent communication and listening skills to understand </li><li>and assess the client's situation and evaluate the level of their emotional and psychological </li></ul> <p>CCBHC Model of Care</p> <p>Family & Children's Services works to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction. You will be working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This model is characterized by innovative, team-based approach and whole person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges.</p> <p>Utilizing multi-disciplinary teams, staff work collaboratively to provide a coordinated effort to enhance client recovery. Robust CCBHC services often result in better client outcomes and quality of care due to:</p> <ul> <li>Increased access to care and crisis services </li><li>Expanded traditional community mental health and substance use services. </li><li>Added Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients </li><li>Greater access to Social Services for clients' economic and social needs </li><li>Increased specialized services for veterans, those most in need, and those impacted by the opioid crisis. </li></ul> <p>Drug Free Workplace Policy</p> <p>This job is classified as a "safety-sensitive" position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
