The co-op will work closely with the finance team to assist in managing accounts, performing reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role aims to deepen the co-op's understanding of corporate finance, while contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within a fast-paced, growth-oriented company. The position is structured to provide meaningful experience in financial data analysis, problem-solving, and operational support.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with account clean-up by reviewing, organizing, and auditing account records to ensure accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies. </li><li>Perform reconciliations by comparing account statements, bank records, and internal ledgers, investigating and resolving differences for consistency across financial documents. </li><li>Support financial documentation by assisting in the preparation, organization, and updating of reports, statements, and records, ensuring compliance with company policies. </li><li>Accurately input, verify, and update financial data into accounting systems and spreadsheets, ensuring precision and adherence to deadlines. </li><li>Collaborate with the finance team to provide support on various financial projects, offering insights in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. </li><li>Contribute ideas for process improvements, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency in data management and reporting. </li><li>Help with developing financial presentations for internal stakeholders, using data visualization and reporting tools to summarize financial performance and metrics. </li><li>Conducted research as needed, on finance-related best practices, processes, etc. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy. </li><li>Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Professional demeanor, motivated, and capable of handling confidential information. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Good organizational and time-management skills. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in a degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. </li><li>Prior coursework in accounting or finance is preferred, but not required. </li><li>Previous internship or work experience in a related field is a plus, but not mandatory. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>This role is primarily office-based, utilizing standard office equipment. </li><li>Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. </li><li>Manual dexterity for operating a keyboard and other office equipment. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds of office supplies or equipment as needed. </li></ul>
