Explore more about the college here.</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Must be observant, safety-conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency </li><li>Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations </li><li>Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor </li><li>Complete records and reports </li><li>Participate in regular in-service training </li><li>Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength and endurance) </li><li>Complete additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director </li><li>Maintain cleanliness of facility </li><li>Able to work flexible schedules </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum age of 16</p> </li><li> <p>Current certification in the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Lifeguarding</p> </li><li> <p>American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid</p> </li><li> <p>American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer</p> </li><li> <p>Pre-employment testing of lifeguarding knowledge and skills</p> </li><li> <p>Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques </li><li>An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures </li><li>Leadership and public relations skills </li><li>Decision-making skills </li></ul> <p>Albertus Magnus College is strongly committed to the principles and practices of diversity throughout the College community.
