City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.</p> <p>The successful candidate:</p> <p>Hours: Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM</p> <p>Location: Zion, IL</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious, and appealing food and beverage items for patients, customers, and staff. This role ensures all food is prepared in alignment with organizational nutritional guidelines and complies with all sanitation, health, and safety standards. The Cook also supports daily kitchen operations and completes additional tasks as assigned by leadership.</p> <p>Minimum Job Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Culinary Arts education preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 1 year of experience in food and beverage, hospitality, or a high-volume hospital cafeteria setting preferred </li></ul> <p>License / Certification</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current Food Handler's Permit from the County/State Health Department (as required in Illinois)</p> </li><li> <p>Certification from an ANSI-accredited food handler program (required within 30 days of employment)</p> </li><li> <p>ServSafe certification preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent customer service abilities</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively as part of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail; effective time-management and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to adapt to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment</p> </li></ul> <p>City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>To learn more about our comprehensive benefits, click here: Benefits Information</p> <p>City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.</p>
