<p>Job Description</p> <p>THIS POSITION IS ON CALL -FLEXIBILE SCHEDULE WITH SATURDAY AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>Weighs vehicles and charges and collects appropriate payment of fees.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Six (6) months of experience in a closely related field emphasizing card and cash handling, balancing, and customer service.</p> <p>Preference for experience with point-of-sale software.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Uses scale and ticketing system to weigh incoming loads and charge customers appropriately. </li><li>Identifies hazardous, unauthorized, or unacceptable waste. Monitors radiation detectors for high readings. </li><li>Coordinates activities with Environmental Manager and Inspectors to admit only permissible materials. </li><li>Prepares daily cash reports. </li><li>Prepares daily reports for inbound and outbound customer traffic. </li><li>Performs accurate cash handling duties. </li><li>Directs vehicles to scales to expedite the flow of traffic. </li><li>Answers customer inquiries and provides information related to landfill operations and various types of waste. </li><li>Provides instruction to customers on proper disposal of various waste materials. </li><li>Performs data entry duties to maintain vehicle and document files related to customer accounts. </li><li>Assists with ensuring safe and efficient operation of the scales. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Computer software related to job-specific duties </li><li>General business transactions </li><li>Cash register and cash drawer operations, including change-making </li><li>Customer service and public relations </li><li>Directing traffic/flagging </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities to:</p> <ul> <li>Operate a personal computer, general office equipment, 2-way radios, telephones, and point of sale software </li><li>Work cooperatively, courteously, and positively with co-workers and the public </li><li>Maintain productivity and accuracy during high traffic conditions </li><li>Communicate and follow verbal and written instructions </li><li>Accurately calculate weight and pricing costs in event of electronic scale and software failure </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Work in a climate-controlled scale house with dust, noise, and vehicles fumes.</p>
