<p>The Position</p> <p>Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.</p> <p>Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.</p> <p>The Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a full-time Psychiatric Nurse 3 (Nursing Supervisor) at Desert Willow Treatment Center (DWTC) located in Las Vegas. A Psychiatric Nurse 3 (PN3) provides nursing care to individuals with emotional and/or behavioral disorders at Desert Willow Treatment Center in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. The incumbent functions as a manager who trains, supervises and evaluates the performance of licensed/registered nurses and Mental Health Technicians, develop policies, and allocates staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. DWTC is an inpatient psychiatric hospital that provides mental health treatment for children ages 6 to 17. This position has the authority and responsibility to ensure that safe and effective patient care is being provided; assures compliance with nursing standards, the Joint Commission accreditation standards, Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance licensing standards, and policies. The PN3 assists the PN4 and Director of Nursing with administrative tasks. This position assists in developing and monitoring discipline specific competencies; overseeing the tracking of all mandatory training for nursing staff; provides orientation, training and education to all new and existing nursing staff. This position is responsible for staff scheduling and ensuring safe and adequate staff-to -patient ratios on all patient care units 24/7. This is a fulltime position with a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week.
