This role supervises mechanics and shop personnel, coordinates workflow, schedules maintenance, and ensures compliance with company, safety, and regulatory standards. The Shop Foreman/Supervisor supports efficient operations, minimizes equipment downtime, and maintains accurate maintenance records.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Maintenance and Repair Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Assign and prioritize daily work orders for mechanics and technicians. </li><li>Oversee repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicles, small engine equipment, machinery, and tools. </li><li>Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards. </li><li>Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide technical guidance. </li></ul> <p>Supervision and Team Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and support shop personnel, promoting teamwork and safety. </li><li>Train employees on proper maintenance procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols. </li><li>Monitor performance and provide input for evaluations. </li><li>Ensure staffing levels support operational needs. </li></ul> <p>Inventory & Parts Management</p> <ul> <li>Oversee ordering, receiving, and stocking of parts, supplies, tools, and shop materials. </li><li>Maintain accurate inventory and ensure availability of critical parts. </li><li>Review invoices and verify accuracy of parts and supply orders. </li></ul> <p>Safety and Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Enforce all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and regulatory guidelines. </li><li>Conduct shop safety inspections and participate in safety meetings and audits. </li><li>Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and waste. </li><li>Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization. </li></ul> <p>Equipment Records & Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and inspection reports. </li><li>Track equipment downtime and assist with root-cause analysis of recurring issues. </li><li>Communicate repair status, major concerns, or delays to management and field supervisors. </li><li>Support budgeting through maintenance cost tracking and forecasting. </li><li>Duties may or may not be subject to change </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Three (3) years of experience in equipment, fleet, or mechanical repair operations. </li><li>One (1) year of experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues. </li><li>Excellent communication and people skills </li><li>Meet all physical requirements of the position. </li><li>Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations. </li><li>18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required. </li><li>Legally authorized to work in the United States. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>CDL Class A or B. </li><li>Certifications in diesel, gasoline, hydraulic, or small engine repair. </li><li>Experience using fleet or maintenance management software. </li></ul> <p>This role is primarily based in a shop environment with occasional field support.
