<p>Description</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Maintains the cleanliness of patient and hospital facilities for the best and safest health care at each hospital. Cleans all areas of the hospital by performing routine cleaning of assigned areas. Demonstrates the ability to utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to established departmental procedure. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>� Performs routine cleaning of assigned areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.</p> <p>� Performs a variety of environmental services functions including daily sanitizing with a germicidal cleanser, high dusting, cleaning windows and windowsills.</p> <p>� Ensures all tiled floors are dust mopped, damp mopped, free of dust dirt and black marks and that all corners, edges, and baseboards are clean.</p> <p>� Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. Ensures all chemicals are diluted to the proper ratio and that all chemicals are properly labeled and locked up when not in use.</p> <p>� Uses and maintains equipment properly and reports safety hazards as appropriate.</p> <p>� Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.</p> <p>� Distributes linens to patient wings and removes dirty linen (not applicable in certain locations).</p> <p>� Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and isolation precautions. Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and disinfectant according to procedure and cleaning routine to prevent the spread of infection.</p> <p>� Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.</p> <p>� Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>minimum 1 year of experience as Housekeeper, Cleaner, Caretaker, Maintenance Worker, Domestic Worker, Environment Service, Room Attendant or Janitor / Custodian. </li><li>Speaks and understands English </li></ul> <p>Preferred: Valid Driver's License</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity</p> <p>Occupational: Significant occupational risk</p> <p>Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
