The Assistant Nurse Manager's primary job function is to assist in unit management to coordinate patient care activities and maintain quality care in accordance with unit policies and procedures. Supervises and/or provides direct patient care. Supports each strategic value by providing excellent care to those we serve. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required </li><li>BSN required </li><li>Specialty certification preferred </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>RN(OH) required </li><li>BLS within 90 days of hire required </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>One to two years nursing experience is preferred. </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS</p> <p>The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Completes nursing assessment of patients and documents appropriately on patient record.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops, evaluates and updates the plan of care based upon the assessment of the patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates and collaborates with physicians and other health team members in developing a plan of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning process.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides, delegates, and coordinates patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitates patient/family teaching as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with budgetary compliance by monitoring use of overtime and adherence to staffing guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and monitors patient care to ensure quality care.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises and directs personnel in the delivery of patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Contributes and fosters the team approach in all unit operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains positive interactions with internal and external customers.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts performance appraisals and job specific competencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Counsels, guides, and directs staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Responds to customer service complaints.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs leader rounding.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes daily charge nurse quality log.</p> </li><li> <p>Pre-cleans, decontaminates and transports contaminated instruments according to policy</p> </li><li> <p>Performs intermediate-level disinfection and/ or high level disinfection per the Instructions for Use (IFU) by the manufacture.
