<p>Job Summary/ Objective: A Heavy Equipment Operator's primary responsibility is to complete assigned tasks safely and accurately using equipment.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>? Loading and unloading isotanks from chassis used to transport</p> <p>? Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it's in good working order</p> <p>? Driving or controlling heavy equipment to complete depot tasks Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly</p> <p>? Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste</p> <p>? Ensures all safety, environmental and operational procedures are followed</p> <p>? Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements</p> <p>? Maintains the confidentiality of company, customer and personnel information</p> <p>? Performs all pre-operational checks to ensure equipment is fit for purpose. Reports any damage or defects as discovered</p> <p>? Other duties as assigned my management</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>? High School diploma or GED equivalent</p> <p>Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities (Competencies):</p> <p>? Must have experience in operating a gas-powered sit down forklift</p> <p>? Must have experience operating a diesel powered forklift</p> <p>? 2 years experience working with forklift</p> <p>? Container loading experience (preferable)</p> <p>? Must be able to speak and read English</p> <p>? Must have experience moving large loads</p> <p>? Knowledge of safety protocols and the procedures used to control heavy equipment</p> <p>? Coordination to use all the controls on pieces of equipment</p> <p>? Possessing enough strength to operate the controls on heavy equipment</p> <p>? Ability to remain stationary in the seat or operating area of the equipment for prolonged periods</p> <p>? Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with equipment</p> <p>? Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers on the jobsite</p> <p>? Basic writing skills to accurately complete reports and other paperwork</p> <p>? Good noncommercial driver's license history to indicate a habit of safe driving</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility: None</p> <p>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. These hours are subject to change as business needs.</p> <p>Travel: 0%</p> <p>Work Environment: This job operates in a depot and outside environment. Weather conditions may vary.
