The organization has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and is consistently recognized on the Forbes Top 100 Charities list.</p> <p>We are currently in search of a Director of Advancement - Northeast Region to join our Development team! The Director of Advancement - Northeast Region is part of a Development team responsible for strategic identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of valued supporters. This position will be assigned a portfolio composed of current and prospective major donors in the Northeast United States and is expected to raise substantial funds for Feed the Children. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Advancement.</p> <p>Note: This is a remote position and all qualified candidates will be considered nationwide, however strong preference will be given to those residing in the Northeastern part of the United States.</p> <p>Salary range: $110K-$120K (commensurate with experience)</p> <p>Travel: The domestic travel requirements for this position are estimated to be up to 25% of the work time.</p> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Bachelors' degree required</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>5+ years' experience in successful major gift fundraising</p> <p>Proven track record in soliciting and securing six figure gifts, and ability to lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities for portfolio of 150-175 donors and prospects</p> <p>Prior experience with a donor management system required</p> <p>Passion and creative energy for major gift and planned giving fundraising required</p> <p>Strong experience in development procedures and practices, including goal setting, work planning and program evaluation required</p> <p>Understanding of database reporting, word processing, and spreadsheets required</p> <p>Familiarity with Microsoft Office and emerging collaboration software tools</p> <p>Experience in planned giving, including charitable estate planning and bequest programs, a plus</p> <p>Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job may be considered.</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <p>Any certifications in fundraising preferred, but not required.</p> <p>Current driver's license required.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Identifies individual donors with a special emphasis on developing high value-exchange relationships to recognize, evaluate and cultivate five and six-figure philanthropic commitments to support the mission and goals of Feed the Children.</p> <p>Responsible for guiding donors through a meaningful and values aligned philanthropic journey.</p> <p>Builds authentic relationships by identifying and connecting with individuals whose passions align with Feed the Children's mission.</p> <p>Develops personalized cultivation strategies that honor each donor's interests, values, and preferred ways of engaging.</p> <p>Thoughtfully documents key interactions to ensure continuity, responsiveness, and relationship-building over time.</p> <p>Supports donors in moving toward investment by providing clarity, inspiration, and a sense of shared impact at a pace that reflects their readiness.</p> <p>Invites donors to make meaningful commitments that reflect their goals, values and the organization's needs.</p> <p>Partners with donors and their advisors (estate planners, financial planners, attorneys) to explore tax-wise and legacy-giving options that achieve philanthropic and financial goals.</p> <p>Nurtures long-term donor relationships through intentional stewardship that communicates gratitude, transparency, and the tangible impact of their generosity.</p> <p>Inspires new donors to deepen their engagement and works with current supporters to explore opportunities for increased investment in alignment with their values and impact goals.</p> <p>Establishes strong working relationships with other staff, working cooperatively with all team members to attain their overall financial and advancement goals.</p> <p>Must travel domestically at least 25% of the time to visit donors and prospects.</p> <p>Speaks on behalf of Feed the Children at meetings of local churches, clubs, businesses, and other organizations.</p> <p>Must maintain knowledge of humanitarian work and issues facing children who live in poverty.</p> <p>Assists in conceptualizing, crafting, and writing development marketing materials and communication pieces.</p> <p>Models the type and level of behavior, professionalism and leadership that is in accordance with the values of the organization.</p> <p>Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and laws; maintain accountability standards.</p> <p>Performs other related duties as required.</p> <p>About Feed the Children:</p> <p>As a leading anti-hunger organization, Feed the Children is committed to ending childhood hunger.
