<p>Responsibilities for this Position</p> <p>IPS CTF Electric Plant Test Support Engineer</p> <p>US-CT-Groton</p> <p>Job ID: 2025-14173</p> <p>Type: Full-Time</p> <p># of Openings: 1</p> <p>Category: Engineering</p> <p>EB Groton Shipyard</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Position is a full time position in Philadelphia, PA.</p> <p>Electric Boat is expanding its engineering presence in the Philadelphia Navy Yard to support the COLUMBIA Class electric plant testing program. The IPS CTF waterfront engineering team provides technical support for emergent issues by evaluating problems and collaborating with a team of engineers across multiple sites. IPS CTF Engineering personnel perform the tasks described below to support development and execution of the Electric Plant Test Program and other programs. The test program will, at times, require a 24/7 test schedule and, therefore, qualified candidates must be willing to support overnight and weekend shifts as necessary. Work from home opportunities are limited and evaluated on a case by case basis. Frequent interface with government personnel is required.</p> <p>Responsibilities will include the following:</p> <ul> <li>Troubleshoot and investigate issues by reviewing data and inspecting the condition of hardware using test equipment such as digital multi-meters, fiber optic test kits, special test equipment, etc. </li><li>Develop engineering recommendations to problem reports </li><li>Review and interpret technical documentation such as engineering drawings and technical manuals in support of troubleshooting </li><li>Provide deck plate engineering support to operations personnel implementing the engineering responses to problem reports </li><li>Act as liaison between the IPS CTF test team, offsite engineering groups, operations personnel, and government personnel </li><li>Review collected test data to ensure all information necessary to certify tests was acquired, no abnormalities are present, and support emergent troubleshooting efforts </li><li>Read and use MATLAB scripts to quickly plot test data in support of test certification and troubleshooting </li><li>Support problem report generation to ensure all relevant test data is consolidated into a report to accurately document the full extent of the issue </li><li>Coordinate additional engineering support as required to adjudicate emergent issues </li><li>Support periodic program reviews and working meetings </li><li>Issue letters to formally document a variety of programmatic decisions </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint and be able to work with minimal supervision </li><li>Excellent verbal and written skills are also necessary, as is the ability to interface effectively with senior Electric Boat personnel </li><li>Team oriented and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>BS or higher in an engineering discipline </li><li>4 or more years of relevant engineering experience </li><li>Ability to provide engineering support as required </li><li>Shift work may be required at times </li><li>US Citizen and qualified to acquire a Secret Clearance </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>BS or higher in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering </li><li>Active Security Clearance </li><li>Experience in shipyard construction and test practices </li><li>Previous naval experience </li><li>Previous shipyard experience </li><li>Experience with power generation and distribution systems </li><li>MATLAB experience </li></ul>
